Messy Church is a way of being church for families and others. It is Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration. Messy Church is part of The Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF), a Registered Charity. brf.org.uk
In Kingsland Church, we meet at 9.30am on the first Sunday of every month, or sometimes outside if the weather is good!
Each month we have a theme based around a bible story or value.
Creativity: We have about four messy activities ranging from painting, planting seeds, treasure trails, making things, cooking and much more all linked to the theme. Amongst these will be something to suit all children, from toddler to teenager. Some of our older children help to organise the activities and we always include a more thoughtful activity to help us consider our response to the message of the Bible.
Celebration: We sing together, read the Bible and say a prayer. Messy Church is about worshiping God together and learning what it means to be a Christian today.
Hospitality: We finish with a shared breakfast, sausages, bacon, cocoa pops and more! We cater for all food allergies and preferences, just let us know. This is a chance to chat to friends and to meet new people.
This year our theme is ‘Being with Jesus Everyday’, and we will be looking at the parables that Jesus told. What can they teach us about how to live our lives with Jesus, not just on Sundays but in all the Messy days in between as well!

Messy Church enables people of all ages to belong to Christ together through their local church. It is a way of being church which is particularly suited to families, but welcoming to all. It meets at a time and on a day that suits local families and is particularly aimed at people who have never belonged to a church before.
